Well, the King Kong of sedans is almost here.
Production of the 2009 CTS-V sedan starts this month with the first cars expected in dealer hands at the beginning of November (at a starting price in the US of $5 shy of $60,000).
Hmmm…now where is that winning lottery ticket.
Read on for the official press release from Cadillac:The 2009 CTS-V, Cadillac’s 556-hp expression of ultimate performance and luxury, begins production this month with initial sales beginning around November 1. The latest in the brand’s V-Series of high performance models, the new CTS-V is intended to reach the top of the world’s most desirable luxury cars, at a starting price of $59,995 in the US market.
“The launch of the new CTS-V presents a compelling proposition for luxury and performance enthusiasts,” says Mark McNabb, North America vice president, Cadillac/Premium Channel. “The CTS-V is a strong statement about Cadillac design and technology and a new member in the club of the highest performing luxury cars.”
The CTS-V, based on Cadillac’s critically acclaimed CTS sports sedan, expresses the full extent of the brand’s dramatic design and technology. Designed to enter the stratosphere of the world’s fastest and most exclusive luxury sedans, CTS-V includes advanced performance technology such as a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine and Magnetic Ride Control, the world’s fastest reacting suspension.
The new CTS-V comes standard with a nearly complete collection of features, including a hand-crafted cabin, a 6-speed manual transmission and a Bose surround sound system with a 40-gigabyte hard drive with a USB port. In addition there are a few options available, including a new 6-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted shift buttons, 14-way adjustable Recaro performance seats, microfiber interior accents and a large “Ultra-View” sunroof.

Love Bug Removal

Any of us working in Louisiana, Mississippi, Southern Georgia and Florida know that this time of the year is "love bug" time - this highly acidic creature has basically no link in the food chain because not even birds will eat them. For the most part they end up on the front of our cars, on our windshields, mirrors, hoods and bumpers. They cook onto the front of the car and very difficult to remove as you know! Just look at your own vehicles and those coming into our service departments. Failing to take quick action to remove the "love bugs" and their acidic residue will have a detrimental effect on the clearcoat and basecoats of our paint as well as chromed plastic and even chrome bumpers. It's just that acidic .

There are always five to ten people that come into a dealership late in the Fall claiming the paint on our vehicles is "defective" when you can see the "love bug" debris that went ignored and ate through either the clearcoat, basecoat or both and or damages to the grille work or bezels. What I have tested after being told of it's magical wonders is Downey Fabric Softener Drier Sheets and yes, it works as well as I was told it would.

Process Steps: 1) Wet the affected area of the vehicle with a hose (front fascia, grille, headlamps, windshield, outside mirrors, front of the roof area). 2) take a Downey Fabric Softener Drier Sheet and wash over the area, (it takes very little effort) and the "love bugs" dissolve off of the vehicle contact areas. 3) most important step - using car wash liquid, now go over the area you just cleaned with soap and water to remove the fabric softener residue. Note: it may take more than one sheet depending on how bad your vehicle is....but the most I have ever had to use was two.

Caution : just rinsing WILL NOT remove the softener residue and it will leave a white chalky appearance - so use some car wash soap. It takes about ten minutes to rid a heavily covered vehicle of the "love bugs" & their residue and another three minutes to wash the affected area of the softener - that is about 1/3 the time it takes to do it the old fashion way - with soap or a cleaner & elbow grease. It will keep your beautiful car from experiencing paint damage and trim damage from the "love bugs" during this time of the year. It works!

Consumer Reports ranks CTS ahead of BMW & Mercedes

Consumer Reports ranks CTS ahead of BMW and Mercedes February 4, 2008 - 11:48 am
Consumer Reports has never been considered one of the ‘enthusiast’ press – but their recommendations are respected by a wide cross-section of the car buying public.
That said, they have just given the new CTS their rating of ‘excellent’ placing it ahead of such luxury benchmarks as the BMW 3-series (the 328i in this case) and the Mercedes C-class (C300) in their latest luxury comparison.
The Cadillac CTS now competes toe-to-toe with some of the best German and Japanese sport sedans…There are more safety features and interior amenities in the new model. Fit and finish is greatly improved, and the interior is much more pleasant than in the previous generation. – David Champion, Consumer Reports’ senior director of automotive testing
Way to go, Cadillac. From "CaddyEdge.com"

The Word is Out! The 2008 CTS is a Hit!

Not only is it a hit, it's a 4 RBI HOMERUN! This is easily the best sedan Cadillac has built in 50 years! The way it drives, the engineering detail, not to mention down right gorgeous looks of this automobile are truly impressive. The automotive mag editors that can't bring themselves to even look at a domestic vehicle, can't take their eyes off it and give it the praise it deserves! It's worth a trip into the showroom to take a closer look at this vehicle that will soon be struting on the local runways!

Now is the time to buy!

As the model year is ending in the dog days of summer you can get the best deals of the year! Inventories must move out and new vehicles are here or on the way. You hear it all the time in the commercials because it really is true. Owners and managers are paying big dollars for excess inventory and they need the space for the new model year vehicles coming heavy from the factory. Incentives from the manufacturer are usually the best of the year to help the dealers deplete inventory and trade values are the best they will be for the remainder of the year. If you are looking for a bottom line deal now is the time before available models and your favorite color are gone or difficult to find. The most popular models go quickly this time of year!

If you prefer to own versus lease consider Certified Pre-Owned:

With the increase in leasing new vehicles many Pre-Owned Dealers such as ours are full of low mileage late model vehicles in excellent condition that we buy directly from the factory. As the #1 Certified Pre-Owned Cadillac Dealer in the Nation and Platinum Award Cadillac Dealer we have access to and purchase excellent condition vehicles from General Motors directly. In many cases you can find one or two year old Cadillacs and SUVs with low mileage and save thousands off new car prices. GM backs these vehicles fully with the balance of a 6 year and 100,000 mile full factory warranty which covers the vehicle completely. As a example the depth of coverage includes light bulbs, batteries, worn radio or instrument buttons without any deductibles. In many cases the certified warranty carries more coverage than even a new vehicle warranty. To become a Certified Cadillac the trade, lease turn-in or factory representative vehicle goes through a rigorous and stringent inspection process detailed below and most often the vehicle looks brand new!

Your Certified Pre-Owned Cadillac comes to you in impeccable condition, having been thoroughly inspected by trained technicians using a checklist of over 110 quality points as a guide. Brakes and tires must be over 50% wear life or will be replaced; fluids and engine parts are cleaned or flushed during the inspection process. You can enjoy your Certified Cadillac with complete peace of mind, because it also comes standard with a comprehensive Cadillac bumper-to-bumper limited warranty along with all applicable Cadillac Ownership Privileges. The Certification checklist and CarFax history report are included with the paperwork and are available for review before the sale. With the peace of mind also comes value as this warranty stays with the vehicle that stays with the car and is fully transferrable at time of trade or resale.
